My opponent contends that city leadership does not want a town center and would rather keep it a 'bedroom community.' This is not true; if my opponent followed city meetings, she would see that there is has been a big push from city officials for the town center.
My opponent claims that Johns Creek residents oppose sidewalks because they want to avoid attracting 'the element.' This is an incredibly insulting loaded claim directed at every resident of this city. How can she represent us when she so obviously has contempt for us?
I agree with my opponent that Johns Creek would be well-served by minority representation. I hope that you will support me as I seek to become the first Indian-American elected official in the history of Johns Creek.
My opponent believes city council members don't get to keep enough taxpayer dollars for themselves, comparing the city's $13k per year wage unfavorably to the $70k per year wage in Atlanta. As she was a registered voter in Atlanta till recently, I encourage my opponent to run for a leadership position in Atlanta if she intends to make it her full-time job.
My opponent speaks of wanting to 'control' North Fulton in the same way as Atlanta and South Fulton. Again, these are nonpartisan positions. Serving on city council should be about working with residents on the local issues facing us in our neighborhoods, not using the position as a means of waging war in national politics.
My opponent has made it clear that her sole reason for becoming involved in Johns Creek politics is because she wants Johns Creek to 'flip blue.' City council seats are nonpartisan positions. Perhaps she should stop worrying so much about national politics and start focusing more on the local issues facing Johns Creek residents.
She flippantly denigrates our police by claiming that racial profiling is a major issue in Johns Creek. This is extremely disrespectful and insulting to our public servants and does not sound like someone who has any interest in fostering a positive relationship with them.
My opponent shows once again that she has not been plugged into the actions of city council on this issue. Stormwater has been a major issue facing the city for the last two years and numerous actions have been taken on it. She even claims that residents are hydroplaning because of the stormwater issue. I've lived in this community for 21 years and have never witnessed anything like that. Have you?
